Job summary

The caregiver at Sanford Health provides in-home care to individuals who have difficulty performing basic day-to-day activities, assisting with personal care, administering medication, and offering companionship.

Responsibilities include following a prescribed health plan, helping with exercises, ensuring home safety, occasional light housekeeping, and transporting clients to appointments while reporting health changes and staying patient, empathetic, and reliable at all times.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• When applicable, valid driver’s license and access to an insured vehicle required.

Responsibilities

• Assists with personal care, including bathroom functions, bathing, grooming, dressing, and eating.
• Follows a prescribed healthcare plan, may include assisting with exercise and administering medication.
• Ensures the client’s home is organized and safe; may include light housework.
• Provides emotional support, encouragement, and mobility assistance; transports client to appointments.
• Monitors and reports changes in health, behavior, and needs.
