Job summary

Osher Marin Jewish Community Center in San Rafael, CA is seeking a part-time Swim Instructor. You will teach private and group lessons to all ages, focus on safety, confidence, and enjoyment in the water.

Qualifications

• Patient, positive, reliable and comfortable with people of all ages and abilities.
• Patient approach to teaching and learning to swim.

Responsibilities

• Teach private and group swim lessons to varied ages and skill levels.
• Set clear goals and tailor instruction to each swimmer.
• Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment.
• Follow pool rules, safety standards, and water safety practices.
• Arrive on time and prepared for each lesson.
• Maintain consistent availability and communicate scheduling needs.
• Communicate professionally with swimmers, parents, managers, and staff.
• Attend required swim instructor meetings and trainings.
• Cover lessons when needed due to illness or schedule changes.
• Pursue continuing education and maintain required certifications.
• Collaborate with Lifeguards and follow safety directions.
• Help create a welcoming, inclusive JCC community.
