Job summary

Orange County Public Schools in Orlando, FL, seeks an energetic Group Leader for the Extended Day Enrichment Program. This hourly, non-benefitted position offers flexible hours up to 29 per week and supervision of students in enrichment activities.

Responsibilities include planning activities, maintaining a neat play area, recording attendance, assisting with snacks, and communicating with the site coordinator, parents and staff to support a safe, engaging environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to direct students in academic enrichment and recreational activities.
• Enthusiasm and stamina to supervise groups of students.
• Ability to communicate with students and adults and maintain a positive environment.
• Willingness to pursue further education as needed.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and implement developmentally appropriate activities for students.
• Determine supplies and equipment required and advise the site coordinator.
• Establish warm, friendly, yet objective relationships with the group.
• Maintain work areas in a neat, clean manner conducive to constructive play.
• Communicate with the site coordinator, parents and other staff members.
• Help to maintain positive relationships with school personnel.
• Assist in serving nutritious snacks.
• Records and updates daily group attendance.
• Reports to the site coordinator any significant problems or unusual behavior.
