Job summary

Columbia University Irving Medical Center in New York is seeking a Variable Hours Nurse Practitioner to join the outpatient Center for Advanced Cardiac Care, focusing on Heart Failure, LVAD, and Transplant care. You will work under the Chief NP and Medical Director, collaborating with physicians and a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care.

The role requires an NP with adult care expertise, NY licensure, board certification, and ACLS/BCLS eligibility.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing as a Nurse Practitioner trained in the care of adults and 1–2 years of hospital experience, preferably in Cardiology.
• Current New York State Registered Professional Nurse and Nurse Practitioner licenses.
• NP Board certification is required.
• Current NPI certifications.
• DEA certification eligibility is required.
• ACLS and BCLS certification eligibility is required.
• Familiarity with EMR systems and MS Word/PowerPoint/Excel.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive medical histories and physical examinations and document findings.
• Order, interpret diagnostics, and manage chronic and acute patient problems.
• Collaborate autonomously with a subset of patients and care teams.
• Review internal and external records and reports.
• Develop and adjust goals and treatment plans per protocols.
• Coordinate with physicians for ongoing care plans and follow-up.
