Job summary

Sunny Days, Inc. is seeking a Child Development Specialist to deliver early intervention services to infants and toddlers in family homes and community settings across California.

You will conduct developmental assessments, support families through the Parent Coaching Model, and tailor strategies to meet each child’s unique goals. The role emphasizes home-based service delivery, HIPAA compliance, and collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree preferred/required (for Orange County only) in child development, early childhood, teaching or related field OR a special education teaching credential
• Early Intervention Experience Preferred
• Home-Based Service Delivery Experience Preferred
• Strong Interpersonal Skills

Responsibilities

• Conduct developmental assessments, provide child development services utilizing the Parent Coaching Model (Rush & Sheldon)
• Follow each child’s IFSP and work with the family to develop strategies to help each child reach developmental goals
• Utilize the family-centered parent coaching approach to build caregivers’ confidence and skills and to ensure progress is generalized
• Provide services in the child’s natural environment, in families’ homes, daycare centers and/or other community settings.
• Provide re-assessments and write progress reports (typically bi-annual)
• Maintain confidentiality of information regarding children and families (HIPAA and/state/federal regulations)
