Job summary

OGD Overhead Garage Door is seeking experienced residential garage door technicians expanding into commercial doors, loading docks, and gates. This 1099 contractor role provides service and installation across residential and commercial clients with a flexible schedule and uncapped commission potential.

The position requires at least 1 year of residential garage door experience, owning a pickup truck (≤20 years old), and the ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work with ladders or lifts.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of residential garage door experience (W-2 or 1099 accepted).
• Must own a pickup truck (≤20 years old).
• Physically capable of lifting up to 75 lbs and climbing ladders or using lifts.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Willingness to service jobs within ~90-mile radius.
• Attend 12-day commercial training in Fort Worth, TX to learn standards.

Responsibilities

• Complete commercial service calls — doors, loading docks, and gates.
• Perform residential garage door repairs, installations, and maintenance.
• Diagnose customer concerns and provide effective solutions professionally.
• Use OGD's job-routing platform to accept jobs and communicate status.
• Maintain high level of customer service throughout each job.
• Operate hand and power tools, ladders, and lifts as needed.
• Remove and haul away old doors and equipment.
• Maintain accurate job documentation and work orders.
