Job summary

AXL Academy is seeking a Floater Paraprofessional to provide flexible, school-wide support through guest teaching, student supervision, and classroom assistance based on daily staffing needs.

The role includes substituting for teachers, supporting interventions, supervising during lunch and transitions, and collaborating with teachers and leaders to uphold a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to follow instructional plans and adapt to multiple grade levels and environments.
• Willingness to work across different roles depending on school needs.
• Commitment to equity, inclusiveness, and school-wide professionalism.
• Experience working with children in educational or youth settings (preferred).
• Bilingual or multilingual skills (preferred).
• Familiarity with restorative practices and classroom management strategies (preferred).
• Proficiency with Google Suite, Chromebooks, or educational technology tools (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Guest Teaching and Instructional Support: serve as substitute teacher and support interventions.
• Supervision and Campus Support: supervise during lunch, recess, arrival, dismissal, and transitions.
• Collaboration and Communication: coordinate with Principal, Crew Culture Leaders, and teachers; communicate assignments.
• Culture and Professional Engagement: attend meetings and events; uphold restorative practices and equity-based expectations.
• Upholding the Vision: engage with students, empower through expectations, and help achieve targets.
