Grand Street Settlement is seeking a Substitute/EHS Floater in Brooklyn to support classroom and kitchen coverage. You will assist the Lead Teacher with a classroom of 8-20 children, ensuring health and safety per Head Start standards and DOHMH Article 47 regulations.

The role requires a high school diploma (some college preferred), experience with young children, and ability to work with diverse families. The schedule is Mon–Fri, 8am–4pm or 9am–5pm, with potential shift variation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; some college credits preferred.
• Experience working with young children.
• Ability to work with children and families with diverse developmental, social or cultural needs.

Responsabilités

• Maintain a safe, sanitary environment per DOHMH/Head Start standards.
• Assist and support staff in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities.
• Collaborate with Lead Teacher to meet children’s goals and objectives.
• Maintain confidentiality of family records and communications.
• Report health/behavior observations to Lead Teacher.
• Assist in kitchen coverage and meal delivery as needed.
• Attend trainings and meetings as assigned.
• Able to lift up to 35 pounds.
• Cover shifts as needed.
• Other duties and special projects as required.
