Job summary

Clarke County Hospital in Osceola, IA seeks an LPN to support providers and clinic staff in exam preparation, treatment, and minor procedures. You may draw blood, collect samples for lab analysis, administer vaccines, and coordinate referrals and follow-ups, documenting all steps in the electronic health record.

You will educate patients using Teach-back and help ensure compliance with HIPAA and safety policies.

Qualifications

• LPN licensure required and maintained.
• Maintain current licenses and/or certifications for the position.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, safety regulations and clinical workflows.
• Ability to document and code appropriately for referrals and tests.

Responsibilities

• Assist provider and clinical staff to obtain vital information and prep for examinations.
• May collect blood samples and prepare specimens for lab analysis.
• Administer vaccines and medications via oral, IM, SQ or ID routes.
• Track follow-up appointments and coordinate referrals.
• Document in the EHR using standardized workflows.
• Demonstrate clinical competence and ensure patient safety.
• Educate patients and families using Teach-back and guidelines.
• Support clinic operations at the Rural Health Clinic Manager's direction.
