Job summary

Air Mobility Command is seeking a Child Development Program Assistant (Multilevel) in Lakehurst, NJ. This flexible position supports the Child Development Center with care, supervision and activities for children from 6 weeks to 18 years, with a focus on safety and engaging programs.

The role offers flexibility in hours (0-40 per week) and includes a $500 recruitment incentive with a six-month service agreement, under NAF guidelines. Applications close 2026-09-30.

Qualifications

• Education substitution allowed to qualify; FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet requirements.
• You must show proof education credentials deemed equivalent to U.S. education.

Responsibilities

• The incumbent will serve as a Child and Youth Program Assistant (CYPA) in one or more child and youth programs and will be accountable for the whereabouts and safety of children and youth.
• Provides care/supervision, oversight and accountability for program participants.
• Assists in preparing age-appropriate activities; supervises children and youth during indoor/outdoor activities, on field trips, outings and special events; arranges and serves snacks/meals.
• Executes work in accordance with policies and regulations. May transport children in government vehicles.
• Coordinates and conducts activities for children and/or youth ranging in age from 6 weeks to 18 years.
• Creates an environment welcoming participant interest and promotes positive interactions. Implements daily schedules and activity plans to ensure age/stage appropriateness.
