Job summary

SYNERGY HomeCare of Teaneck is seeking compassionate individuals to join as Companions / Babysitters, providing in-home care to children and supporting families.

You will supervise, assist with meals, activities, hygiene, and safety; you’ll engage in age-appropriate play and communicate daily with parents. Flexible scheduling and competitive compensation are offered, with opportunities for career advancement.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• One-year prior professional experience.
• Driver's license required.
• CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive and responsible care for children in the family's home.
• Supervise children at all times and ensure their safety and well-being.
• Assist children with daily activities, including meals, snacks, dressing, hygiene, and other age-appropriate needs.
• Prepare simple meals and snacks for children as instructed by the family.
• Engage children in age-appropriate games, activities, crafts, reading, and playtime.
• Help maintain a clean and safe environment by cleaning up after the children, organizing toys, and keeping children's areas tidy.
• Follow the parents' instructions regarding routines, schedules, and household rules.
• Provide companionship and encourage positive social and emotional development through conversation and interactive activities.
• Communicate with parents regarding the children's daily activities, behavior, needs, and any concerns that may arise.
• Maintain a consistent and safe routine for the children while in their care.
