Job Summary: Flex Security Officer

Tiered Pay Rates (depending on availability and licensing)

• $17.00 per hour non commissioned (if applicant has limited availability)
• $18.00 per hour non commissioned (if applicant has open availability)
• $19.00 per hour non commissioned with TWIC (if applicant has open availability)

What is a Flex Officer?

The Flex Officer is a premium role designed for our most dependable team members. Unlike a traditional assigned post, you are the "First Responder" for our operations. You will support various client sites across the Houston area, filling in for emergency call-offs, vacations, and specialized short‑term assignments.

Important Note on Scheduling: as a "Flex" it is rare to have a set schedule.

This role offers a higher pay rate in exchange fortotal availability.While we strive to provide advance notice, this position requires you to be "on‑call" to handle last‑minute needs. If you thrive on variety and are looking for a role where no two days are the same, this is for you. If you need a set schedule, this position is not for you.

Job Responsibilities

• Rapid Response: Be available to accept shifts on short notice to ensure client sites remain secure.
• Adaptability: Quickly learn and execute "Post Orders" for diverse environments (Corporate, Industrial, Retail, etc.).
• Safety & Oversight: Maintain a safe environment by observing, correcting, and reporting hazards.
• Professionalism: Serve as a high-level representative of DSI, interacting professionally with clients and the public at various locations.
• Reporting: Complete detailed Daily Activity Reports (DARs) and incident reports with high accuracy.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• True Open Availability: Must be willing and able to work any shift (Days, Nights, Weekends, Holidays) on short notice.
• The "Flex" Mindset: Ability to walk into a new environment and perform professionally with minimal "ramp-up" time.
• Communication: Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
• Reliability: You must have 100% reliable transportation and a working smartphone for immediate communication.
• Requirements: At least 21 years old, High School Diploma/GED, Valid Driver’s License, and aTexas Security License.
• Physical: Ability to perform foot patrols and moderate lifting as required by various post assignments.
