Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent or 5 years of verifiable experience.
• Licensing requirements may be required by state/local laws.
• Valid driver’s license if operating a company or customer vehicle.
• As a condition of employment, may undergo a background check in line with laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• No prior security experience required.
• Must be at least 18 years old (21 if armed in some states).
• Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments.
• Ability to operate radio/telephone equipment or consoles.
• Good interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Active listening and problem-solving abilities.
• Assess and evaluate situations quickly and accurately.
• Mediation, diplomacy, and teamwork.
• Attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may cause security concerns or hazards.
• Sound alarms or call police or fire department when needed.
• Warn violators of infractions such as loitering or forbidden articles.
• Permit authorized entry and monitor entrances and exits.
• Observe departing personnel to prevent theft and ensure proper removal of property.
• Investigate incidents and prepare reports; maintain logs as required.
• Aid customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous manner.
• Make emergency notifications per site Post Orders.
