What You'll Do:

As a Flex Security Officer, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining a safe environment by:

• Patrolling and Monitoring:Surveying the hospital through patrols and posting at entrances to detect potential threats and deter emergency situations.
• Responding to Calls:Supporting Security Services with clear communication and a team-oriented approach.
• Assisting Visitors:Aiding patients, visitors, contractors, and staff entering the facility and verifying their identity and permissions.
• De-escalating Situations:Assisting in the de-escalation and/or physical control of potentially violent individuals with strength, stamina, flexibility, and critical thinking.
• Compliance:Maintaining knowledge of and complying with all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and standards.
• Quality Care:Providing respectful service that acknowledges the developmental and cultural differences of populations served.
• Innovation:Cultivating a culture of improvement, efficiency, and innovative thinking.
• Documentation:Documenting daily activities and safety incidents in report writing systems.

Schedule:

• Flexible Scheduling:Casual FTE with day/evening/night shifts and weekend rotations as needed.
• Location Support:This position also supports our Fairview Lakes Hospital in Wyoming, MN. Employees will be expected to pick up shifts there to support their schedule needs.

Qualifications:

• Required Experience:

  • Two years of security, customer service, or military experience, OR
  • Associate's degree and one year of security or customer service experience, OR
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.

• License/Certification:

  • Valid Class D Driver’s License and DMV record meeting Fairview Insurability requirements for assignments requiring motor vehicle operation.

• Preferred Experience:

  • Hospital Security Experience.

• Preferred License/Certification:

  • Certified Peace Officer (POST).
  • Emergency Med Tech Basic (EMT-B).

Additional Requirements:

• Pass pre-assignment training within the probationary period.
