Job summary

Prosegur in Santa Clara, CA is seeking a part-time Unarmed Security Officer to maintain a safe environment for customers and staff, while performing basic to intermediate access control and incident-reporting tasks.

You will interact with clients professionally, complete written logs, and support security operations across shifts. Requires English proficiency, 18+ years old, and a CA Security Guard Card with at least 1 year of security experience.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years of age.
• CA Security Guard Card.
• Minimum 1 year security experience required.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Clean driving record and valid driver license.
• Capable of following complex instructions.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to participate in the company's screening process, including drug screen and background investigation.
• Knowledge of security operations and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and secure environment for customers and employees while performing unarmed security duties.
• Interact with clients, visitors, employees, and the public professionally.
• Possess basic to intermediate computer skills and effective written and oral communication.</br>Note: line breaks kept concise.
• Prepare written reports and logs neatly and legibly on a regular basis.
• Manage security services including post orders, staffing, scheduling, payroll, supervision and training at an assigned site.
• Provide leadership and guidance to a team of security officers and ensure adherence to protocols.
• Read and understand operating procedures and instructions.
• Use access control technology at client sites as needed.
• Handle both routine and crisis situations calmly and efficiently.
• Respond to emergencies and investigate disturbances to ensure safety and security.

• Maintaining a safe and secure environment for customers and employees while providing general Unarmed security duties to our clients.
• Interact with clients, visitors, employees, and the public in a professional manner.
• This position will require you to be customer service oriented and have basic to intermediate computer skills, as well as effective written and oral communication skills.
• Must be able to frequently prepare written reports and logs in neat, legible handwriting
• Manage security services and related operations including preparation of post orders, staffing, scheduling, payroll, supervision and training at an assigned site.
• Provide leadership and guidance to a team of security officers, ensuring effective performance and adherence to protocols.
• Must be able to read and understand all operating procedures and instructions
• Advanced computer skills to utilize innovative, access control technology at client-specific sites
• Ability to handle both common and crisis situations at the client site, calmly and efficiently
• Respond to emergencies, investigate disturbances, and help ensure the safety and security of people and property.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires significant physical activity throughout the shift. Officers must be able to:

• Walk and stand for extended periods (including completing multiple rounds and patrols of up to 1–2 miles per shift)
• Frequently climb stairs, ramps, or ladders as required by site patrol routes
• Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Maintain alertness and situational awareness during all patrols
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
