Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, is hiring married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents. In this life-changing role, couples reside in on-campus student homes and provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for a group of approximately 8–13 students living in the home.

The schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty, followed by three days off, and progress to a placed houseparent living with the same group.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for couples married at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to drive student vans.
• Willing to reside on campus in student homes.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the home.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily supervision and mentorship for students.
• Manage household routines and student schedules.
• Administer medications and monitor student wellness.
• Drive students to activities and engage in developmental and recreational activities.
• Lead daily devotions and accompany students to Sunday Chapel.
• Oversee budgeting and household reporting.
