Job summary

Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA is hiring married couples as Full-time Flex Houseparents. Couples live in on-campus student homes, providing care, guidance, supervision, and support for 8–13 students to foster academic, emotional, and social development.

Responsibilities include daily supervision, routines, medications, transport to activities, devotions, and budgeting duties. The nine-on, three-off schedule leads to a Placed Houseparent role, with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for couples married at least two years.
• Both spouses must be 27 years or older.
• No more than three dependent children in the home.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.
• Pet limitations: fish and one dog of approved breeds.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student vans.
• Comfort leading daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship
• Managing household routines and student schedules
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness
• Driving students to activities and engaging in developmental/recreational activities
• Leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel participation
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting
