Overview

Flex Clerks have the unique opportunity to learn about and participate in multiple departments! Flex Clerk Grocery/Beer, Wine & Spirits generally balance cashiering with work in the Grocery and Beer, Wine & Spirits departments. They provide excellent, professional customer service, stock and rotate department items, build and maintain displays, and rotate back stock and sales floor products. Flex clerks may also assist other departments.

Compensation Details

Starting Wage Range: $21.01 - $21.11/hour, depending on experience. Full Wage Range: $21.01 - $26.15/hour.

Main Job Responsibilities

• Provide excellent, professional customer service
• Stock and rotate grocery, dairy, frozen, and bulk products
• Maintain organization and order of back-stock products
• Build and maintain produce displays, rotate produce in back stock and sales floor
• Update price changes and signage
• Ensure sanitation, cleanliness, and safety standards are met
• Operate all equipment per PCC standards
• Maintain cleanliness and order throughout the store
• Assist with bagging groceries and providing carryout service
• Serve as the go-to person for special orders and grocery questions
• Work on DSD orders when assigned
• Accurately scan and process items at the register, handle payments
• Perform basic math and proficiency at 10-key
• Communicate about PCC's membership and programs
• Handle merchandise returns
• Maintain an orderly appearance at the register
• Assist other departments as needed

Qualifications and Skills

• Proven ability to deliver excellent customer service
• Availability to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Dependability, organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail
• Basic math skills and proficiency at 10-key
• Excellent multitasking and attention to detail
• Retail or customer service experience preferred but not required; background in cashiering or grocery industry ideal
• Ability to meet physical demands: standing, bending, twisting, lifting 10-40 lbs
• Current Food Worker Card from Washington State Department of Health
• Must be at least 18 years old
