Job summary

Latham Centers, Inc. in Brewster, MA is seeking a Flex Direct Support Professional to work across our Children's Program. This position supports children with complex needs, delivers direct care, and helps develop daily living and social skills in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license
  • CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
  • CPI certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
  • One year of experience with children or disabilities preferred but not required
  • Strong communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility to work throughout the Children's Program

Compensation: $21.97–$23.75 per hour (based on experience)

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct care, supervision, encouragement, and support to children with complex special needs
  • Work throughout the Children's Program based on staffing and program needs
  • Support students with daily living skills, personal care, meals, recreation, and other activities

Requirements:

  • Ability to safely intervene during extreme behavioral situations

  • One year of experience working with children or individuals with disabilities preferred, but not required

Competitive Pay/Paid Time Off

Latham offers competitive pay with a $3 per hour weekend differential. Full time employees accrue 5 weeks of Earned Time Away in the first year of employment. $3/hour weekend differential.

Housing

Latham may be able to provide temporary individual housing based on availability.

Retirement Program

Latham provides up to a 5% employer match for any employee enrolled in the 403b retirement plan. Employees are eligible at the start of employment.

Childcare reimbursement is available to all benefited employees after 120 days of employment.

Paid Training and Tuition Reimbursement

Training | Experience | Opportunity | Development

Located in Brewster our Interns will work on our beautiful, 3-acre campus, which includes 4 college dorm-like residential living situations, an approved Department of Elementary and Secondary school, with nursing and a physician directly on-campus. You will have the opportunity to work directly with students/residents diagnosed with Prader-Willi Syndrome and individuals with a trauma background.

Clinical interns will work collectively with the clinical department and physician, assisting with supervised group and individual therapy, crisis intervention and supervision. Reports directly to the Director of Clinical Services.

Education interns will work collectively with classroom teachers and educational administration on meeting students Individualized Education Plan goals and using the common core in the classrooms.

Qualifications include: High School degree or GED; ability to handle children in crisis safely, with compassion.

At Latham School, children from 8 years to young adults of 22 years are under the care of a special needs teacher and aide. In small home room classes of eight or fewer students.

While some Latham children return home to family or enroll in programs closer to home, others may transition to our Adult Programs or remain on Cape Cod to live independently
