Job description

This is a part-time position of 32-56 hours per pay period (every 2 weeks). Some shifts will be cooking with a shift time of 10:30am-7pm. Other shifts you will work as a Dining Service Aide with shift times of either 6am-2pm or 4pm-7pn.
McCormick Assisted Living is the Green Bay campus for St. Paul Elder Services. The Cook/Dining Service Aide would serve the needs of our residents and tenants campus-wide, which is a maximum of 70 individuals each day. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities

  • Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
  • Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
  • Cook food in various utensils or grillers
  • Check food while cooking to stir or turn
  • Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
  • Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
  • Check quality of ingredients
  • Take meal orders from our tenants
  • Bring ordered meals to our tenants

Skills

  • Proven experience as cook
  • Experience in using cutting tools, cookware and bakeware
  • Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)
  • Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Very good communication skills
  • Excellent physical condition and stamina
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Diploma from a culinary school will be an advantage
