Job summary

The Gospel Rescue Mission seeks a Fleet Vehicle Service Technician to keep vehicles, trailers, generators, and mobile equipment in safe, dependable condition. You will perform inspections, preventive maintenance, coordinate outside repairs, and maintain detailed service records to ensure readiness for events and outreach activities.

You will identify concerns early, document priorities, and ensure safety items are current, with a focus on reliability and cost-effective operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED; automotive, diesel, small-engine, or related technical training required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in automotive repair, fleet service, preventive maintenance, or related field preferred.
• Working knowledge of gasoline and diesel vehicles, trailers, generators, batteries, tires, brakes, and basic electrical systems.
• Ability to perform routine maintenance and identify mechanical and safety concerns.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and electronic maintenance or work-order records.
• Maintain a valid Arizona driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to safely operate GRM vehicles and tow trailers after training and authorization.
• Strong organization, follow-through, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Fleet Inspections and Preventive Maintenance: inspect, schedule, and document maintenance for all assets.
• Event readiness: ensure vehicles and equipment are ready for events and outreach.
• Repairs and Vendor Coordination: arrange repairs with outside shops and verify work.
• Fleet records: maintain inventory, service history, and downtime logs.
• Safety and staff support: enforce safety policies and train staff where needed.
