Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; automotive/diesel tech certification preferred.
• 5+ years in fleet/auto/heavy-equipment maintenance, with at least 2+ years in a supervisory role.
• Valid California driver's license with clean driving record.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance and light- to medium-duty repair.
• Familiarity with California DMV, CARB, DOT, and Cal/OSHA safety requirements.
• Experience with fleet maintenance management systems and office software.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and schedule daily work of fleet maintenance technicians.
• Plan preventive maintenance and repairs to maximize uptime and safety.
• Ensure compliance with DMV, CARB, DOT, and Cal/OSHA regulations and keep records.
• Monitor repair quality and verify work meets safety standards.
• Manage budgets, parts inventory, and vendor relationships to control costs.
• Track KPIs such as downtime, turnaround, and maintenance cost per unit.
• Train and coach maintenance staff and enforce safety protocols.
• Coordinate with operations to minimize service disruption.
