Job summary

Penske is seeking a Project Manager – Uptime in Reading, PA. This role focuses on diagnosing complex equipment issues across our fleet, evaluating new technologies, and improving maintenance processes to deliver value to customers.

Responsibilities include leading root-cause analyses, testing emerging tech, and developing standards to boost repair efficiency and fleet availability. A strong background in heavy‑duty systems and data-driven decision making is required.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 4 years in automotive, diesel, or commercial trucking.
  • HD Truck OEM Technician Certification strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of heavy-duty truck mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Proficient in OEM diagnostic platforms, service information systems, and technical documentation.
  • Ability to collect, interpret, and act on fleet maintenance data.

Responsibilities

  • Lead root cause analysis on fleet equipment issues and develop corrective action plans.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies through hands-on testing and data-driven recommendations.
  • Identify gaps in maintenance processes and develop standardized procedures.
  • Design and implement proactive repair strategies to minimize downtime and boost fleet availability.
  • Handle additional projects and tasks as assigned.
