Job summary

McCarthy Tire Service is seeking a Truck Service/Preventive Maintenance Technician to perform routine PM services on commercial and heavy-duty trucks. You will change engine oil, filters, lubricate components, inspect tires and brakes, and assist lead technicians with repairs.

The role requires basic mechanical knowledge, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work safely in a fast-paced shop environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Basic automotive or heavy-duty mechanical knowledge.
• Previous truck, fleet, tire, or preventive maintenance experience preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
• Valid driver's license required.
• CDL Class A or B is a plus, but not required.
• State Inspection License is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance (PM) services on commercial and heavy-duty vehicles.
• Change engine oil, fuel, air, and oil filters.
• Lubricate chassis and other components.
• Inspect and service tires; check and adjust tire pressure.
• Inspect and adjust brakes.
• Perform basic wiring and lighting repairs.
• Inspect vehicles and identify additional maintenance or repair needs.
• Assist lead technicians with repairs and service when PM work is completed.
• Safely use hand tools, air tools, tire tools, and other shop equipment.
• Maintain accurate service and repair records.
• Keep work areas, tools, and equipment clean and properly maintained.
• Follow all company safety procedures and applicable federal and state regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
