Our Team is Kind of a Big Deal!

UniFirst is seeking a reliable and hardworking Fleet Technician to join our community. As a Team Partner in the Maintenance Department, you will be responsible for carrying out all corrective, preventative, and predictive maintenance on fleet vehicles to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation. You will also maintain fleet vehicles in a safe working condition meeting DOT or other regulatory requirements. We offer a standard Monday - Friday work week with periodic and weekend overtime, along with on-the-job training.

Pay & Benefits

What you’ll be doing:
  • Ensure all vehicles are properly registered and compliant with current plates, inspections, and documentation.
  • Complete scheduled preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and maintain fleet performance.
  • Perform corrective and predictive maintenance to keep vehicles safe and roadworthy, meeting DOT and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain vehicle appearance to match UniFirst branding and cleanliness standards.
  • Keep the garage clean, organized, and safe; source parts and monitor costs for repairs.
  • Track and manage maintenance tasks using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Support overall fleet operations by performing additional tasks as directed by leadership.
Qualifications

What we’re looking for:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Associate’s degree from an accredited technical school or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
  • Must meet all DOT regulatory requirements.
  • CDL license is a strong plus, preferred for road tests and servicing Class A vehicles.
  • Strong diagnostic skills with GM drivability; diesel experience is a plus.
  • Willingness to work overtime and perform occasional road calls.
  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience with medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair, including preventative maintenance, tire & wheel service, brake systems, drivetrain, suspension, electrical, and A/C systems diagnostics.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic software and basic computer skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 80 lbs safely.
