Job Type: Full-Time

Schedule: Monday-Friday

Location: Torrington, CT

Hours: 40 Hours (Opportunity for overtime)

Pay Range: $24-36 Depending on experience

As a diesel mechanic, you will perform engine, electrical, fuel, brake, and exhaust repairs on large commercial vehicles, conduct preventive maintenance, roadside, and emergency repairs. Candidates must have relevant accreditation, proven experience, and pass a background check. Read more to apply!

Responsibilities
  • Perform thorough preventative maintenance inspections.
  • Complete scheduled maintenance operations including lubrication, fluid changes, brake adjustments, and tire rotation.
  • Perform unscheduled maintenance as directed by the Fleet Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Execute complex repairs and field tests based on technical drawings and specifications.
  • Provide emergency roadside services as needed.
  • Inspect equipment and diagnose mechanical issues.
  • Accurately document repairs and parts used.
  • Maintain tools and work areas in an organized manner.
  • Perform additional duties as required, including on-call and extended hours, and occasionally driving vehicles for testing.
Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of experience as a diesel mechanic or mechanic preferred.
  • Accreditation from a school or certification program preferred.
  • Complete all required training.
  • Undergo pre-employment background checks.
