Job summary

We Energies, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a Fleet Technician for the Milwaukee, WI location. This 2nd shift position (2:30 pm – 11:00 pm) involves maintaining, repairing, and servicing fleet vehicles and equipment to ensure safety and availability in accordance with DOT regulations.

The role requires 2+ years of automotive/truck mechanic experience, a valid driver’s license, and CDL within 90 days of entry.

Qualifications

  • Two years’ automotive/truck mechanic experience within the past four years.
  • Valid driver’s license and meet company driving requirements.
  • Must obtain CDL within 90 days of entry into the job.
  • Must comply with DOT CDL drug and alcohol testing requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains, repairs, and services vehicles and equipment to keep them safe, functional, and available per DOT regulations.
  • Troubleshoots and diagnoses current or potential vehicle and equipment malfunctions.
  • Performs temporary or permanent repairs and component rebuilding on trucks, construction, automotive and auxiliary equipment.
  • Conducts preventative maintenance on fleet assets.
  • Performs miscellaneous duties as required or assigned.

Job description

We Energies , a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a Fleet Technician (So.-No Grp.#) in our Milwaukee, WI location. This position is represented by Local 2150.

Job Responsibilities

This position is 2nd shift (hours are 2:30 pm - 11:00 pm)

The Fleet Technician (So.-No Grp. #) performs the following duties:

  • Maintains, repairs, and services vehicles and equipment that are essential to other work groups to ensure that they are safe, functional, and available when needed and in accordance with DOT regulations
  • Performing troubleshooting and diagnosing current or potential vehicle and equipment malfunctions
  • Temporary or permanent repairs and component rebuilding on trucks, construction, automotive and auxiliary equipment
  • Preventative maintenance
  • Miscellaneous duties as required or assigned
Minimum Qualifications
  • Applicant must have a minimum of two years’ experience as an automotive or truck mechanic within the past four years
  • Applicant must have a valid driver’s license and meet the company’s requirements for driving
  • The selected applicant must obtain a commercial driver’s license (CDL) within 90 days of entry into the job
  • The applicant must comply with DOT commercial driver’s license (CDL) drug and alcohol testing requirements
Testing requirements

Construction and Skilled Trades (CAST) -

Other level: Comprehension of pictured mechanical principles such as gears, levers, pulley systems, water flow, etc.; arithmetic skills in calculating distances shown in prints and drawings; and the ability to read and understand written material.

End Date: 08/31/2026

Minimum Posting Range: $33.12

Maximum Posting Range: $55.19

The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs. At WEC Energy Group, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
