Job summary

Air Comfort, Inc. seeks a Fleet Technician (Level 3) to maintain a diverse fleet of 75+ gas and diesel trucks and equipment. You will lead the evening crew, perform advanced diagnostics, and coordinate with partners to keep operations running smoothly in a safety‑mocused environment.

This in-person role, based in Gilbert, SC with relocation to Lexington in 2027, offers comprehensive benefits and a path for professional growth within a reliable, quality‑driven company.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years in shop, mechanic, or fleet maintenance roles.
  • Strong expertise in gas and diesel vehicles, 2-cycle engines, and electrical/battery systems.
  • Experience in commercial landscaping or construction equipment maintenance preferred.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical teammates.
  • Safety and quality standards adherence.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • ASE Certification is a plus.
  • Must provide comprehensive hand tools (specialized equipment provided).

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on gas and diesel trucks, trailers, and landscape machinery.
  • Service and repair 2-cycle and 4-cycle engines and battery-powered equipment.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools to identify and resolve vehicle and equipment issues, including electrical/battery systems.
  • Install and maintain fleet technology such as OBDII trackers and dash cams.
  • Collaborate with manufacturers on complex or warranty-related concerns.
  • Respond to field emergencies and perform timely repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Travel to regional locations for preventive maintenance and repairs.
  • Lead evening maintenance crew, manage tasks, and ensure shop organization and fueling.
  • Document repairs, labor hours, and parts usage in Aspire.
  • Coordinate with Fleet & Facilities Manager on inventory and repair needs.

Job description

Join a leading commercial landscaping company as a Fleet Technician (Level 3) and play a vital role in keeping operations running smoothly. This position offers the opportunity to work with a diverse fleet of over 75 gas and diesel trucks, trailers, and a wide range of landscape equipment, including both traditional and modern battery-powered tools. As a senior technician, you will leverage your advanced diagnostic skills, oversee evening maintenance operations, and contribute to a collaborative, safety-focused team environment. Responsibilities
  • Perform advanced diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on gas and diesel trucks, trailers, and a variety of landscape machinery.
  • Service and repair 2-cycle and 4-cycle engines, as well as battery-powered equipment and mowers.
  • Utilize advanced diagnostic tools to identify and resolve vehicle and equipment issues, including electrical and battery systems.
  • Install and maintain fleet technology such as OBDII trackers and dash cams.
  • Collaborate with manufacturers to address complex or warranty-related equipment concerns.
  • Respond to field emergencies and perform timely repairs to minimize downtime for operational crews.
  • Travel to regional locations (Charleston and Greenville) as needed for preventative maintenance and repairs.
  • Oversee and perform routine preventative maintenance, including oil changes, tire services, brake adjustments, and blade sharpening.
  • Lead the evening maintenance crew, ensuring daily tasks, shop organization, and fueling are completed efficiently.
  • Document all repairs, labor hours, and parts usage accurately using Aspire software.
  • Work closely with the Fleet & Facilities Manager to maintain optimal inventory levels and communicate equipment status and repair needs.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in shop, mechanic, or fleet maintenance roles.
  • Strong expertise in gas and diesel vehicles, 2-cycle engines, and advanced electrical/battery systems.
  • Experience in commercial landscaping or construction equipment maintenance is highly preferred.
  • Ability to clearly explain technical concepts to non-technical team members and management.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality standards.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • ASE Certification is a plus.
  • Must provide a comprehensive set of personal mechanic hand tools (specialty equipment provided).
  • Ability to lift, carry, or push up to 50 lbs. regularly and perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and repetitive movements.
  • Comfortable working in both indoor shop environments and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule: 10-hour shifts, Tuesday through Friday, with on-call responsibilities during busy seasons.
