Job summary

Air Comfort, Inc. in Gilbert, SC seeks a Fleet Technician (Level 3) to perform advanced diagnostics and repairs on a diverse fleet of 75+ trucks and equipment. You will lead the evening maintenance crew, collaborate with the Fleet & Facilities Manager, and ensure safety and reliability across regional locations, including Charleston and Greenville.

This full-time role emphasizes strong diagnostic skills, teamwork, and commitment to quality, with relocation planned for 2027.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years in shop, mechanic, or fleet maintenance.
• Strong expertise in gas/diesel vehicles and electrical/battery systems.
• Experience with commercial landscaping or construction equipment preferred.
• Able to clearly explain technical concepts to non-technical teammates.
• Attention to safety and quality standards.
• ASE Certification is a plus.
• Must provide a comprehensive set of personal mechanic tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on gas/diesel trucks, trailers, and landscape machinery.
• Service 2-cycle and 4-cycle engines, plus battery-powered equipment and mowers.
• Use advanced diagnostic tools to identify and resolve issues including electrical and battery systems.
• Install and maintain fleet technology such as OBDII trackers and dash cams.
• Collaborate with manufacturers on complex or warranty-related concerns.
• Respond to field emergencies and perform timely repairs to minimize downtime.
• Travel to regional locations for preventative maintenance and repairs (Charleston and Greenville).
• Oversee routine preventative maintenance: oil changes, tires, brakes, blades.
• Lead the evening maintenance crew and ensure tasks, shop organization, and fueling are completed.
• Document repairs, labor hours, and parts usage using Aspire software.
• Coordinate with Fleet & Facilities Manager on inventory and status updates.

• Perform advanced diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on gas and diesel trucks, trailers, and a variety of landscape machinery.
• Service and repair 2-cycle and 4-cycle engines, as well as battery-powered equipment and mowers.
• Utilize advanced diagnostic tools to identify and resolve vehicle and equipment issues, including electrical and battery systems.
• Install and maintain fleet technology such as OBDII trackers and dash cams.
• Collaborate with manufacturers to address complex or warranty-related equipment concerns.
• Respond to field emergencies and perform timely repairs to minimize downtime for operational crews.
• Travel to regional locations (Charleston and Greenville) as needed for preventative maintenance and repairs.
• Oversee and perform routine preventative maintenance, including oil changes, tire services, brake adjustments, and blade sharpening.
• Lead the evening maintenance crew, ensuring daily tasks, shop organization, and fueling are completed efficiently.
• Document all repairs, labor hours, and parts usage accurately using Aspire software.
• Work closely with the Fleet & Facilities Manager to maintain optimal inventory levels and communicate equipment status and repair needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in shop, mechanic, or fleet maintenance roles.
• Strong expertise in gas and diesel vehicles, 2-cycle engines, and advanced electrical/battery systems.
• Experience in commercial landscaping or construction equipment maintenance is highly preferred.
• Ability to clearly explain technical concepts to non-technical team members and management.
• Attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality standards.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• ASE Certification is a plus.
• Must provide a comprehensive set of personal mechanic hand tools (specialty equipment provided).
• Ability to lift, carry, or push up to 50 lbs. regularly and perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and repetitive movements.
• Comfortable working in both indoor shop environments and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule: 10-hour shifts, Tuesday through Friday, with on-call responsibilities during busy seasons.

Work Location: In-person in Gilbert, SC (relocating to Lexington in 2027)
