Job summary

G&J Pepsi-Cola Bottlers, Inc. in Ohio seeks a Fleet Technician/Diesel Technician to maintain and repair the company fleet, ensuring safety, reliability, and compliance with federal standards.

The role requires 1 year of medium to heavy-duty truck experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work a 12:00–8:30 pm schedule. Candidates must provide their own toolbox and pass DOT safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum - High School or GED.
• Preferred - Vocational/Technical or equivalent degree; 2 Year / associate degree in diesel mechanics.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative maintenance repairs on equipment.
• Operates Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT).
• Adheres to all company policies, standards and procedures and wears all required personal protective equipment.
• Complies with all safety and DOT regulations.
• Communicates with co-workers, internal customers, and supervisors.
• Transports equipment to outside maintenance shops for repair work not completed in-house.
• Orders parts and maintains parts inventory.
• Maintains cleanliness and assists in the organization of the fleet garage.
• Completes Federal annual inspection reports, preventative maintenance records, service repair order forms, time-off requests and other required paperwork according to established standards.
• Works assigned schedule and exhibits regular attendance.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Position Summary

To serve our internal customers by maintaining and repairing the company's fleet of vehicles according to established company standards and federal law to ensure the safety, reliability, and functionality of the fleet.

Essential Functions

Additional Requirements

Basic understanding of diagnostic software. Must be able to work around fumes, airborne particles, and toxic/caustic materials. Must be able to work around moving equipment (e.g. forklifts, pallet jacks) and in a loud noise environment.
