Job Summary

Perform maintenance/repairs on sedans, light/medium/heavy trucks, trailers, and heavy work equipment, including attached and auxiliary equipment used by the Company. The list below outlines principal duties, but is not exhaustive. Employees may perform additional related, incidental, or miscellaneous work as needed under varying supervision conditions.

Job Description

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Service and repair boom/pedestal assemblies, troubleshoot equipment, inspect components, and load test boom assemblies.
  2. Service and repair hydraulic systems, including troubleshooting and replacing pumps, motors, valves, cylinders, and accumulators.
  3. Service and repair HVAC systems, diagnose A/C problems, conduct pressure tests, and replace components such as compressors and refrigerant hoses.
  4. Troubleshoot and repair winch assemblies.
  5. Service and repair steering systems, including pumps and gearboxes.
  6. Service and repair air brake systems, including compressors, chambers, and valves.
  7. Service and repair hydraulic and electric braking systems, including master cylinders and ABS systems.
  8. Inspect and service differentials, power dividers, and transmissions.
  9. Service and repair fuel and exhaust systems, including diesel fuel pumps, intake and turbo systems, and fuel injection systems.
  10. Assist in diagnosing complex problems.
  11. Operate Company vehicles and perform incidental duties.
  12. Maintain tools, equipment, and work area.
  13. Maintain records and submit reports.
  14. Participate in training and assist in training others.
  15. Perform less skilled work as assigned.
  16. Report irregularities and abnormal conditions.
  17. Assist and supervise other employees as directed.
Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least 2 years of automotive mechanical diagnosis, hydraulic, and diesel repair experience; trade school graduation with diesel experience is desirable.
  • Valid state driver’s license; Class A CDL within 12 months; Fluid Power Society Certification and two ASE certifications within 24 months.
Other Requirements
  • Qualify through demonstration or testing.
  • Proficiency in vehicle maintenance fundamentals and computer systems.
  • Within a set timeframe, acquire qualifications for Fleet Technician A or vacate the position.
  • Complete Tuff Tech pre-employment test.
  • Support transmission work with up to 80-100% travel.
  • Shift work may be required.
Physical Demands
  • Work at heights, climbing ladders, and on large vehicles.
  • Use heavy tools, grasp, push, pull.
  • Lift up to 100 pounds, work in awkward positions, overhead.
  • Walk and stand frequently, sometimes on rough terrain.
  • Operate trucks and heavy equipment.
Compensation Data

Grade: U043-107

Range: $33.13 - $35.12 USD

Physical demand level: Heavy Work (exerting 50-100 pounds occasionally, 25-50 pounds frequently, or more).
