Job summary

PepsiCo is seeking a Fleet Mechanic in Anchorage, Alaska, to ensure fleet reliability and support driver safety. The position offers a target pay of $41.75 per hour alongside excellent benefits starting on Day 1.

In this role, you will work independently, performing maintenance on diverse fleet equipment while utilizing advanced diagnostic technologies. Candidates should possess the necessary tools and experience in heavy-duty repairs.

Qualifications

  • Must own basic hand tools and pass a Forklift Driving Skills test.
  • Physical ability to lift and manipulate objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Experience with diagnostic platforms such as Noregon or Snapon.

Day‑to‑day responsibilities
  • Work independently performing PMs and repairs.
  • Utilize leading‑edge technology and programs including voice application, Noregon diagnostics, Uptake predictive analytics, TAAS, and more.
  • Leverage and grow skills working on Pepsi’s diverse fleet equipment.
  • Perform advanced diagnostics across all OE platforms (Volvo, International, Freightliner, Maxon, etc.).
  • Perform high‑level repairs such as engine and driveline, after‑treatment and emissions, and safety systems.
  • Adapt and build repair and maintenance capability for alternative fuel applications such as electric vehicle, CNG, and B100.
  • Diagnose failures of vehicles and disassemble, repair and reassemble parts as necessary.
  • Maintain documentation and vehicle records.
  • Answer service calls.
  • Support Pepsi's strong safety culture by adhering to all safety standards and procedures.

Minimum requirements
  • Own basic hand tools (diagnostic and high‑tech equipment will be provided).
  • Physical ability to lift, pinch, bend, reach, climb, and manipulate objects up to 50 pounds.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Must pass a Forklift Driving Skills test if applicable.
  • Experience or training involving hydraulic and air brake systems.
  • Experience performing after‑treatment and emissions repairs (class 6‑8 diesel).
  • Experience performing driveline repairs (class 6‑8 diesel).
  • Experience using diagnostic platforms (e.g., Noregon, Snapon, Nexiq, Altel).
Helpful experience
  • Experience removing and replacing mounted wheels to torque specs.
  • Experience utilizing diagnostic troubleshooting codes.
  • Experience with parts management and inventory controls.
  • Work under limited supervision.
  • Experience with shop tools (engine hoists, welding, tire changes, small tools).
  • Preventative maintenance programs and activities.
  • Experience with computers.
  • Experience repairing forklifts.
  • Experience with manufacturing standard manuals and electronic modules.
  • Experience repairing heavy duty equipment.
  • Experience or training involving gas and/or diesel automotive repair.
  • ASE certifications (Electrical, Heavy Duty, Suspension, Brakes, etc.).
  • Hotwork/Welding certification.
  • Experience driving Class A or B CDL trucks.
  • Experience with shift work (on‑call, 24/7, 2nd/3rd shift).
