Job summary

Kodiak Robotics, Inc. is seeking a Fleet Technician to perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on vehicles and autonomous systems in a shop setting.

You will follow SOPs and complete work orders to keep the fleet safe and operational. You'll gain hands-on experience with AV components, diagnostics, and maintenance workflows while collaborating with senior technicians and leads to ensure quality and safety in daily fleet operations.

Qualifications

  • Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

Kodiak Robotics, Inc. was founded in 2018 and has become a leader in autonomous ground transportation committed to a safer and more efficient future for all. The company has developed an artificial intelligence (AI) powered technology stack purpose-built for commercial trucking and the public sector. The company delivers freight daily for its customers across the southern United States using its autonomous technology. In 2024, Kodiak became the first known company to publicly announce delivering a driverless semi-truck to a customer. Kodiak is also leveraging its commercial self-driving software to develop, test and deploy autonomous capabilities for the U.S. Department of Defense.

As an Fleet Technician, you will execute maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair tasks across vehicle and autonomous (AV) systems in a shop environment. You will complete assigned work orders, follow SOPs, and support day-to-day fleet operations to keep vehicles safe and operational. This role provides hands‑on experience with AV systems, diagnostics, and maintenance workflows while working alongside experienced technicians.

What You'll Do
  • Safely operate company vehicles as an essential function of the position
  • Maintain a clean driving record that meets requirements for coverage under the company's auto insurance policy.
Work Order Execution
  • Execute maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting tasks on vehicles
  • Complete work orders accurately and on time
  • Perform inspections and basic repairs following SOPs
AV Systems Work
  • Work with AV components including sensors, diagnostics, and system checks under guidance
  • Capture logs, photos, and diagnostic data as required
  • Follow defined workflows for AV-related tasks and elevate issues
SOP & Quality
  • Follow SOPs to ensure safe and consistent execution
  • Complete required documentation for all work performed
Team Execution
  • Work under direction of Senior Technicians and Leads
  • Participate in shift briefs, debriefs, and handoffs
  • Escalate issues clearly and immediately
What We're Looking For
  • Experience 1-3 years of experience in fleet, automotive, or technical operations
  • Basic experience with maintenance or mechanical systems
  • Willingness to learn AV systems and diagnostics
  • Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record
  • Nice to Have Experience in a shop or garage environment
  • Exposure to autonomous vehicle systems or sensors
  • Familiarity with tools, inspections, or maintenance workflows
  • Mindset Detail-oriented with a focus on safety and accuracy
  • Follows instructions and SOPs consistently
  • Communicates clearly and escalates issues quickly
  • Reliable and consistent in execution
