Job summary

Shield AI is seeking a Fleet Support Specialist to maintain operational readiness across customer fleets. You will troubleshoot aircraft and system-level issues, support operators in real time, and collaborate with Engineering, Product, Manufacturing, and Field Service to drive solutions.

The role requires strong technical judgment, adaptability, and clear communication in dynamic, high-consequence environments. Travel to fielded systems may be required to ensure immediate resolution.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated troubleshooting and mechanical/maintainer experience.
• Ability to work independently while contributing within a small, high-performing team.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in customer-facing technical environments.
• Experience operating in dynamic, unpredictable, or austere environments.
• Customer-focused mindset with accountability and follow-through.
• Ability to acquire Shield AI Air Vehicle Operator Certification.
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening.
• Ability to pass medical and dental screenings as required by customers.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret DoD security clearance as required by customers.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external fleet technical issues.
• Troubleshoot aircraft, ground support equipment, and system-level issues remotely and on-site.
• Provide structured troubleshooting guidance to operators and Field Service Representatives.
• Assess technical risk and prioritize actions to restore operational readiness.
• Document findings, resolutions, and recurring issues to improve support processes.
• Travel as required to support fielded systems and deliver hands‑on troubleshooting.
• Communicate clearly with operators, maintainers, and leadership to diagnose issues and drive resolution.
• Represent Fleet Support in cross‑functional coordination with Engineering, Product, Manufacturing, and Field Service.
• Provide feedback from customer interactions to improve reliability, usability, and support processes.
• Support high‑tempo environments where rapid decision-making is critical.
