Job summary

Ameren Illinois is seeking an automotive maintenance technician for Decatur, IL. You will diagnose and repair engines, drivetrains, bodies, chassis, electrical and hydraulic systems, and perform welding.

This DOT-sensitive role requires a high school diploma and an approved automotive maintenance program. Two years of automotive maintenance experience or equivalent are required, plus the ability to obtain and maintain a Class A CDL with Airbrake endorsements.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from high school or successful completion of a high school equivalency examination.
  • Successful completion of an approved educational program in Automotive Maintenance, or its equivalent.
  • Satisfactorily performed for two years in an automotive maintenance facility in a repair technician classification, or its equivalent.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Class A CDL License with Airbrake endorsements.
  • Must pass the Construction Skilled Trades (CAST) aptitude test, written automotive mechanic exam.

Job Description

Location: Decatur, IL

2nd Shift: 3:00pm-11:00pm Monday-Thursday; 11:00am-7:00pm Friday

Hourly Rate

Hourly Rate: $48.57; As of July 1 the union negotiated wage rate will increase to $50.03.

Grade Step BC 164 Step 1 of 1 (Top Step) - 51.78 USD

Position is eligible for annual incentive payments based on company performance and subject to sole management discretion.
