Job summary

U.S. Fleet Forces Command in Virginia is seeking a Supply Management Officer (GS-13) to oversee complex logistics programs within the ACOS Logistics and Ordnance (N41) of COMNAVSURFLANT.

The role integrates with directorates to secure funding, manage force materials, and guide fleet readiness through policy and reporting systems. The position requires deep knowledge of DoD logistics, program analysis, and extensive coordination with stakeholders to defend funding requirements and ensure mission

Qualifications

• Experience performing Federal/DoD supply and logistics operations, supply-chain management, material readiness, and fleet logistics policy.
• Experience applying supply-program analysis, policy development, root-cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions.
• Experience managing inventory, stock-control, material-handling-equipment, and operational-readiness management.
• Experience conducting readiness data analysis and use of systems such as the Continuous Monitoring Program and Training and Operational Readiness Information Service.
• Experience implementing Federal acquisition and contract oversight, including familiarity with FAR and DoD FAR Supplement; designated Contracting Officer's Representative.

Responsibilities

• Assist in management of complex support contracts and equipment programs; align with local supply policies and funding.
• Develop and implement force repairable material management policy.
• Create specifications for new or improved Logistics applications.
• Set goals, monitor status, and coordinate group tasking; respond to customers.
• Develop and conduct DLR and TORIS management training to ensure fleet-wide compliance and readiness.
• Plan, maintain, and monitor reporting systems affecting Not Ready For Issue carcass tracking.
