Zusammenfassung

North Andover, MA—Nlcinc is seeking a Fleet & Small Engine Mechanic / Shop Manager to lead a mixed fleet and a small‑engine shop. You will diagnose, repair and maintain gas/diesel trucks, mowers, snow plows and winter equipment, while supervising daily shop operations and safety.

You will manage PM schedules, parts inventory and records, with on‑call duties during storms and peak seasons. A valid driver’s license and ASE or related certifications are preferred.

Qualifikationen

• 5+ years combined experience as a fleet mechanic and small‑engine technician.
• Experience with gas and diesel engines and diagnostics.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors.
• On‑call availability during winter/peak periods.

Aufgaben

• Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics and repairs on gas and diesel engines, transmissions, drivetrains, brakes, electrical systems, hydraulics and cooling systems for trucks and heavy equipment.
• Service and repair small engines and power equipment (commercial mowers, zero‑turns, walk‑behinds, trimmers, blowers, generators).
• Install, maintain and repair snow plows, spreaders/salters, hydraulic controls and wiring; prepare vehicles for winter operations.
• Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance (PM) on fleet vehicles and equipment; manage PM schedules and records.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns and field repairs; provide on‑call support during storms or peak seasons.
• Oversee daily shop operations: prioritize work orders, assign tasks, track labor and parts, ensure timely turnaround.
• Manage parts inventory, order supplies, negotiate with vendors, and maintain cost controls.
• Enforce shop safety and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Keep accurate maintenance logs, service records, inspection reports and report vehicle status to operations.
• Maintain compliance with DOT, EPA, and other applicable regulations for vehicle and equipment maintenance.
