The City of Killeen is seeking a dedicated Fleet Services Mechanic to perform maintenance and repair work on a variety of vehicles. This role requires a high school diploma, practical experience, and the ability to operate various tools and equipment. GENERAL PURPOSE
Performs maintenance and repair work on vehicles and mechanical equipment serviced by the Fleet Services Division.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED
Employee has no supervisory responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESSPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
1. Must have a valid driver's license by date of hire.
2. Must obtain and maintain a Texas Driver's License within 90 days of hire.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED
Power and hand tools and equipment for vehicle mechanical maintenance and repair work; mechanic’s tools including jacks, hydraulic lifts, air tools, and other tools required for minor repairs and routine maintenance of motorized vehicles; electronic vehicle diagnostic equipment; safety equipment, as necessary; telephone; mobile or portable radio; personal computer, including fleet maintenance software; tire mount/balancer, and safety equipment as required.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift weights up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
