Job summary

Walmart Transportation in Saint James, MO is seeking a Service Shop Repair Technician to perform inspections, repairs, and replacements on trailers, tractors, yard trucks, and shop equipment. You’ll document work, support warranty processes, and ensure DOT compliance while contributing to fleet reliability and safety.

Ideal candidates have 2 years of tractor/trailer repair experience or a technical school certification, valid driver's license, and strong diagnostic and documentation skills.

Qualifications

• 2 years' experience in tractor and trailer inspection and repair OR a technical school degree, or certification in Heavy Duty Truck/Trailer Maintenance.
• Valid state-issued driver's license.
• Brake inspection qualified per FMCSA regulations (Section 396.25). Vehicle Inspection qualified per FMCSA regulations (Section 396.19).

Responsibilities

• Perform minor to intermediate inspections, repairs, and replacements on Walmart equipment (trailers, tractors, yard trucks, shop equipment, service vehicles).
• Create and process work orders; assess needs, identify parts, consult as needed, and select repair solutions.
• Conduct minor diagnostics using technical/electronic equipment on engines, electronics, drivetrains, and minor HVAC.
• Receive fuel drops, monitor safety compliance, and collect/prepare fuel samples and required paperwork.
• Identify warrantable repairs and complete accurate maintenance entries, warranty tags, parts retention, and warranty claims per guidelines.
