Transdev North America is hiring a Fleet Service Technician in Longview, TX. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain engines across various vehicles and equipment, ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity. The role features a four‑day work week and a comprehensive benefits package.

You will work with A‑level mechanics, perform routine maintenance, and lead diagnostic efforts to resolve engine issues. DOT compliance and safety standards apply, with opportunities for mentorship and career growth

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience as a Mechanic.
• DOT drug testing and physical if applicable.
• DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 prohibits Schedule I drugs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct diagnostic tests using advanced tools to troubleshoot engine issues.
• Perform moderate repairs and replacements on engine components.
• Assist senior mechanics in advanced diagnostic and repair tasks.
• Execute routine maintenance to prevent breakdowns and optimize performance.
• Lead diagnostic tests to identify complex issues and determine repair strategies for engines.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting and rebuilding tasks to spec.
• Provide guidance to junior technicians and mentor their development.
• Other duties as required.

Transdev in LONGVIEW, TEXAS is seeking an experienced Fleet Service Technician to bolster our team. This role demands expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining engines across various vehicles and equipment. As a Fleet Service Technician, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity for our vehicles.

Four-day work week schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct diagnostic tests using advanced tools and software to troubleshoot engine issues.

• Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair tasks on engines, including overhauling and rebuilding components to required specifications.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians, assisting them in developing their skills and knowledge
• Other duties as required.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience as a Mechanic.
• ASE certifications preferred; ASE certification program provided
• Mechanic’s Tool Set
• Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
• Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.

Physical Requirements

• Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions-100% of the job is performed outside, work alone and in remote locations.
• Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces
• Push and pull objects up to 50 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level
• Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
