Opportunity Statement
We are seeking a Fleet Safety Manager to oversee all aspects of fleet safety and regulatory compliance. This role ensures that the organization adheres to federal, state, and local DOT regulations while promoting a safe working environment for drivers and operational staff. The Fleet Safety Manager will collaborate closely with DBAs, drivers, operations leadership, and insurance and legal teams to maintain compliance, manage incidents, and implement safety programs.
Role Responsibilities
The Fleet Safety Manager is expected to manage fleet safety operations, compliance programs, and risk management initiatives:
- Ensure company fleet operations comply with DOT, FMCSA, and state and local transportation regulations.
- Monitor regulatory changes and implement updates to policies and procedures.
- Develop, implement, and maintain fleet safety policies, procedures, and training programs.
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.
- Oversee and audit driver training, certification, and ongoing education on DOT regulations and company policies of GrubMarket DBAs.
- Lead and manage investigations of vehicle accidents, incidents, and regulatory violations.
- Coordinate with insurance providers, legal teams, and leadership on claims and incident management.
- Identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Prepare and maintain reports on safety metrics, accident trends, and compliance findings.
- Track and analyze key safety indicators to identify risk areas.
- Consult with the DBAs on DOT audits, inspections, and inquiries.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Experience Required
- Strong knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, and state transportation safety regulations.
- Proven experience conducting safety audits, accident investigations, and regulatory reporting.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to influence and promote a culture of safety across all levels of the organization.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and fleet management software.
- 5+ years of experience in fleet safety, transportation compliance, or risk management.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Transportation, or related field.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $80,000–$100,000/year
