Job summary

Walmart Shelby, NC is seeking an Area Manager, Fleet Safety to lead fleet safety operations at transportation offices. You will champion DOT compliance, coach drivers, and translate data into actionable safety improvements across the network.

The role requires strong data skills, excellent communication, and the ability to implement technology-enabled safety solutions in a fast-paced distribution environment. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Shelby, NC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in occupational safety management or related field is required.
• 2 years' safety experience in supply chain, retail, or related area or 4 years' experience in traffic safety within similar contexts.
• 2 years' experience with continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., TPM) in supply chain or transportation maintenance environments.

Responsibilities

• Support Walmart transportation offices in fleet safety operations and compliance.
• Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and other safety standards.
• Provide driver training and coaching to improve performance and safety.
• Develop and implement safety protocols and procedures.
• Leverage data to identify root causes of safety issues and apply effective solutions.
• Create informative safety dashboards for stakeholders using data visualization tools.
