Austin Powder is seeking a Fleet Safety and Compliance Coordinator to join the Operations team at our Cleveland, Ohio headquarters. The role focuses on administering driver policies and daily monitoring of vehicle telematics and dashcam programs to advance safety and compliance across fleets.

You will work with the Senior Transportation Manager and collaborate across the company to support transportation objectives and training initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Minimum HS diploma or GED; college degree preferred.
  • Experience with CDL drivers is required.
  • Experience with an ELD such as Platform Science, Samsara or Motive.
  • Experience with commercial motor vehicle fleets.
  • DOT regulations knowledge is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Administer driver-related policies and monitor telematics and dashcam programs.
  • Review dashcam, CSA, crash, MVR, and telematics data for safety and compliance.
  • Coach drivers and coordinate with field managers on follow-up actions.
  • Interface with Human Resources to administer policy as needed.
  • Coordinate telematics equipment and dash cam installation for vehicles.
  • Assist with accident investigations and transportation-related claims.

Job Summary

Austin Powder Company is looking for a Fleet Safety and Compliance Coordinator to join the Operations team at our Cleveland, Ohio corporate headquarters. This individual will be responsible for the administration of our driver-related policies as well as the daily monitoring and implementation of our vehicle telematics and dashcam programs.
The Fleet Safety and Compliance Coordinator will play a key role in moving safety and compliance efforts forward for our commercial and passenger fleets. The Fleet Safety and Compliance Coordinator will report to and work closely with the Senior Transportation Manager and collaborate daily with other employees in the department, and throughout the company.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
  • Responsible for the daily administration of our driver-related policies. Duties in this area include using vehicle telematics and camera data from both our commercial and non-commercial fleets:
  • Driver behavioral data from dashcam videos
  • CSA data from roadside inspections
  • Crash data
  • Telematics data from our partner ELD-provider Platform Science
  • Hours-of-service violations
  • MVR data
  • Monitors dashcam data for Austin's commercial and passenger fleets.
  • Works with APC field managers to ensure proper coaching and follow-up is completed in a timely and effective manner.
  • Interface with Human Resources to ensure proper administration of policy is executed as necessary.
  • Coordinate service and installation of telematics equipment and dash cams in Austin Powder vehicles with goal of 100% operational equipment.
  • Assists drivers and managers in working with electronic logging devices (ELDs)
  • Assists and provides data for accident/incident investigations and resolution of transportation-related claims as required.
  • Assists with employee training initiatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the company's corporate transportation objectives.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Must have acquired, as a minimum, the following formal education and experience:

  • HS Diploma or GED (college degree preferred)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Teams.
  • 1+ Experience working with CDL drivers
  • 1+ Experience working with an ELD such as Platform Science, Samsara, Motive, or others
  • 2+ Experience working with commercial motor vehicle fleets.
  • Experience in DOT regulations is strongly preferred.

Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Travel will be <5%
  • Physical demands include sitting for extended periods of time while frequently typing, viewing computer screens and use of mouse/keyboard.
  • Operation of office equipment to include but not limited to telephones, printers, copiers, and scanners.
  • Repetitive motion of data entry, hand, finger wrist motion and dexterity.
  • May include filing and handling paperwork may involve reaching, grasping, or bending.
  • Light lifting and carrying of office supplies, files, or boxes (generally under 25 lbs.).
  • Will require walking and standing during the office hours.
  • Good vision for reading and screen use.
  • Clear verbal communication and active listening, often over the phone or video calls.
