Job summary

RTD - Regional Transportation District in Denver, CO is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Manager to lead the rolling stock maintenance function for bus fleets and related equipment. Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in bus, heavy vehicle, or fleet maintenance operations.
• Experience coordinating repair activities and supporting safe and reliable vehicle operations.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and reliability-centered maintenance.
• Familiarity with safety standards (FTA, OSHA, EPA) and environmental compliance.
• Ability to supervise, train, and develop maintenance personnel.
• Valid Colorado driver’s license or ability to obtain within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Participate in hiring, onboarding, and supervision of direct reports; assign work and set expectations.
• Oversee rolling stock maintenance programs; ensure vehicle readiness, safety, and reliability.
• Develop and maintain maintenance policies, procedures, and documentation; track inspections and safety compliance.
• Develop, monitor, and manage departmental budget; oversee overtime, staffing, and resource allocation.
• Administer labor agreements and resolve workplace issues with management.
• Support vehicle specifications for new procurements and ensure maintainability and safety.
