Job summary

Callan Marine, Ltd. is seeking a Technical Engine Superintendent to oversee Chief Engineers on all fleet vessels, with emphasis on Blue Water units.

The role reports to Vessel Manager and collaborates with Maintenance Manager and Port Engineers to ensure preventive and corrective maintenance is performed correctly and timely. You will train Chief Engineers and Engine Room crew, standardize maintenance practices, improve reliability, reduce unplanned failures, and cut costs through proactive

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of GE and MAK engines.
• Experience supervising staff/crew.
• Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic skills.
• Strong troubleshooting, diagnostics, and preventive maintenance skills.
• Strong analytical and mentoring abilities.
• Ability to work away from home at remote project locations.
• Must be reliable and motivated with safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enforce Company technical standards for propulsion engine operation, maintenance, overhaul practices, inspection procedures, spare parts management, and engine room housekeeping to ensure consistent maintenance quality across all vessels.
• Direct and train Chief Engineers, Engine Room Crew, (Mechanic, Watch Engineer, Oilers) on how to maintain their engines.
• Work with Maintenance Manager and direct Chief Engineers to document corrective and preventive actions taken to maintain engines to optimal performance.
• Direct Chief Engineers to maintain and store spares required to keep engines operating at optimal performance.
• Perform audits on Chief Engineers for engine condition, performance, maintenance, logs, and documentation of services performed.
