Job summary

Kenworth Louisiana is seeking a Preventative Maintenance Technician to support our Leasing Operations. You will perform maintenance, lube, oil, tire work, and DOT inspections to keep our fleet reliable and compliant.

This role requires basic mechanical knowledge, a toolbox, valid driver's license, and the willingness to learn from experienced colleagues while working with a team on site.

Qualifications

• 2+ years related experience and/ or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must have a valid Driver License.
• Must own the majority of all basic tools and have a workable toolbox.

Responsibilities

• Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with factory standards
• Conducts all Preventative Maintenance and DOT inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations and optimal vehicle performance
• Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts
• Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer
• Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended
• Communicates with the service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time
• Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order
• Installs optional equipment as specified by the customer or dealer
• Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor
• Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals
• Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner
• Reports any safety issues immediately to management
• Attends and completes all training as required by the company
• Other duties as assigned
