Job summary

Paycom - ATS seeks a Fueling and Fleeting Operator in Houston, TX to monitor barges, handle shore-side fueling, and perform light maintenance. You will report to the Channelview, TX office and work 12-hour shifts, coordinating between vessels and trucks.

Responsibilities include logging barges, reading and communicating with crews, ensuring safety, and handling fueling operations and basic upkeep. Requires TWIC, driver license, and ability to pass screenings.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License and transportation requirements.
• TWIC card required or able to obtain.
• Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug and alcohol screen.
• Must be able to work 12-hour shifts.
• Proficiency with MS Word and MS Excel.

Responsibilities

• Log and track barges in the fleet; multitask between barge traffic, fueling, and communications.
• Read, write, and communicate effectively with vessels, customers, and company personnel.
• Monitor fleet safety and assess areas for safety.
• Oversee security, stability, and mooring of barges; monitor vessel traffic and parking.
• Monitor, connect, and disconnect tanker trucks or vessels for fueling.
• Gauge truck tanks and operate fueling meters; process fueling tickets.
• Clear and clean fueling hoses.
• Perform light maintenance up to housekeeping and lawn services.

Our Fueling and Fleeting Operators monitor and track barges in the fleet and handle shore-side fueling operations and light maintenance. This position reports into our Channelview, TXoffice.

Key Job Responsibilities:

• Log and track barges in the fleet; capable of multi-tasking between barge traffic, fueling, communications.
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively with vessels, customers, company personnel.
• Monitor the safety of the fleet property and ability to assess area for safety.
• Oversee security, stability, and mooring of barges, monitor traffic and parking of vessels.
• Monitor, Spot, connect, disconnect Tanker Trucks, or vessels for loading fuel.
• Gauge Frac truck tanks and operate fueling meters (tickets for fueling).
• Clear and clean fuel hoses.
• Perform light maintenance up to and including housekeeping and lawn services.

• Must have the physical stamina to lift, carry and pull on fueling hoses of 60 pounds to complete the task & still have the foresight to recognize when assistance is needed.
• Ability to climb 8-10 foot stairways and / or ladders for gauging trucks.
• Must possess color vision and depth perception sufficient to recognize color-coded objects such as electrical components, navigation lights, hazardous cargo placards, warning signals, and valves.
• Must be capable of hearing alarms, unusual noises in operating machinery, and signals from boat or personnel by radio, telephone, or voice communicator.
