Job summary

Cogent Talent Solutions is seeking a skilled Fleet Mechanic to maintain and support our rapid response fleet. The Fleet Operations Lead Mechanic will ensure readiness and safety of vehicles, equipment, and assets for emergency responses and power restoration projects.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of diesel/heavy vehicle maintenance experience, strong maintenance scheduling knowledge, and a CDL with inspection/emission license. This on-site role offers incentives and full benefits.

Qualifications

Certifications in commercial fleet maintenance and minimum of 5 years fleet maintenance experience.
Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance schedules; hands-on diesel/heavy vehicle maintenance, diagnosis and repair; safety compliance.
Excellent communication and organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
CDL license plus inspection/emission license required.

Responsibilities

Fleet Maintenance: review preventive maintenance schedules and ensure adherence.
Diagnose minor mechanical/electronic issues; use diagnostic tools as applicable.
Oversee emergency response maintenance and repairs as needed.
Asset Availability & Utilization: maintain asset availability for projects and emergencies; analyze asset data for optimization.
Develop preventive maintenance schedules to extend fleet lifespan and reduce costs.
Equipment Safety and Compliance: enforce safety policies; participate in safety training and inspections; ensure regulatory compliance.
Emergency Response Support: deploy fleet assets rapidly during emergencies; ensure readiness of fleet resources.
