Job summary

Clarke Vehicare is seeking a Fleet Mechanic to maintain and repair customer fleets with diesel or auto technician experience. Strong diagnostic and repair skills, plus ownership of tools, are required for this role. This position offers competitive pay, benefits, and career growth.

The Fleet Mechanic will work on light to heavy equipment and must be able to record repairs using mobile devices and company software. Training and advancement opportunities available.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on experience in diesel or auto repair.
• Strong diagnostic and repair skills across engines, brakes, electrical, and suspension.
• Own tools required and basic computer skills for diagnostics.
• ASE certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Record repairs using company devices and software.
• Repair and maintain light to medium duty customer vehicles; some heavier Class 8-9 work.
• Experience with industrial and heavy equipment is helpful (skid steer, backhoe, tractors).
• Operate with standard technician tools; major shop tools and diagnostics provided.

What are the duties?

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Use of Smartphone, Laptop, and Tablet Technology to Record all Repairs
• Repairs and Maintains Light & Medium Duty Customer Vehicles
• Some Heavier Class 8-9
• Experience with industrial and heavy equipment helpful (skid steer, backhoe, farm tractors, trailers, atv's, etc.)
• Standard Tech Owned Tools Required
• Major Shop Tools and Diagnostic Equipment is Provided
• Other duties may be assigned

PHYSICAL and SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

• While performing the duties of this job, the associate will be required to move frequently, stand, walk, and sit.
• The associate is frequently required to use hands to touch, handle, and feel, and reach with hands and arms. The associate must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100lbs with assistance.
• The associate must be able to read and write detailed reports.
• Implement and enforce Health and Safety rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and prescribed instructions.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• 5+ years of hands-on experience
• Strong diagnostic and repair skills in engines, brakes, electrical, and suspension systems
• Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Basic computer skills for diagnostics and work order entry
• Must have own tools
• Allison Transmission experience is a PLUS

CERTIFICATES and LICENSES

• Must have a valid driver's license with no more than 2 moving violations and/or at-fault accidents on driving record within the last 3 years.
• No drug or alcohol-related conviction on driving record in the past 5 years (ie., DUI/DWI).
• Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future.
• ASE certifications are a plus
