Job summary

Clarke Vehicare in Santa Fe Springs, CA is hiring a Diesel/Auto Technician. This full-time role starts at 10:00am and pays up to $38 per hour, based on experience.

If you have hands-on experience with medium-duty trucks, engines, brakes, electrical, and suspension, we want to talk with YOU! You will use diagnostic tools, record repairs with mobile devices, and work in a shop setting with standard tools; CDL Class B or higher and ASE certifications are a plus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on experience working with medium-duty trucks.
• Strong diagnostic and repair skills in engines, brakes, electrical, and suspension systems.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic computer skills for diagnostics and work order entry.
• Must have own tools.

Responsibilities

• Record all repairs using smartphone, laptop and tablet.
• Repair and maintain light & medium duty customer vehicles in a dedicated shop.
• Some heavier Class 8-9 trucks may be involved.
• MHE experience (electric) will be helpful.
• Operate with standard tech-owned tools; major shop tools provided.

What are the duties?

Essential Duties

• Use of Smartphone, Laptop, and Tablet Technology to Record all Repairs
• Repairs and Maintains Light & Medium Duty Customer Vehicles in a Dedicated Shop
• Some Heavier Class 8-9
• MHE experience (electric) will be helpful
• Standard Tech Owned Tools Required
• Major Shop Tools and Diagnostic Equipment is Provided
• Other duties may be assigned

PHYSICAL And SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

• While performing the duties of this job, the associate will be required to move frequently, stand, walk, and sit. The associate is frequently required to use hands to touch, handle, and feel, and reach with hands and arms.
• The associate must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100lbs with assistance.
• The associate must be able to read and write detailed reports.
• Implement and enforce Health and Safety rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and prescribed instructions.

Education And Experience

• 5+ years of hands-on experience working with medium-duty trucks
• Strong diagnostic and repair skills in engines, brakes, electrical, and suspension systems
• Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Basic computer skills for diagnostics and work order entry
• Must have own tools

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working with Peterbilt trucks
• Reefer experience would be helpful

CERTIFICATES and LICENSES

• Valid Driver's License
• Current CDL or ability to acquire CDL (class B or higher)
• ASE certifications are a plus
